PRODUCTION TECHNOLOGY
OUR TECHNOLOGY
At Kaltenecker brewery, we emphasize both what we produce and how we produce it.
We brew over 20 types of beer using an infusion technological process on a semi-automatic fully stainless steel device.
Our key technology partner is the German company BrauKon. It is a globally recognized manufacturer of brewing technology and the owner of several innovative patents, which are also successfully used in our brewery.
Our brewing technology is progressive, waste-free with closed cycles, and chimney-free with a bridle steam condenser. That makes it as environmentally-friendly as possible.
CAPACITY
Capacity of the brewery is 5 x 20 hl of beer every 24 hours.
Cylindrical – conical (CK) fermentation and service tanks have a capacity of 20 and 40 hl. These enable both bottom and top fermentation of beer. Beer production is currently limited by the total capacity of CK tanks. It’s at the limit of 15,000 hl of beer per year.
The bottling line consists of filling and packaging of non-returnable glass bottles with volume of 0.33 litres and 0.5 litres, as well as PET bottles with volume of 1 litre. The capacity of the bottling and packaging line is up to 2,200 bottles per hour.
PASTERIZATION
Kaltenecker Brewery, as a typical craft brewery, produces everything unfiltered. This ensures that every part of the mosaic of exceptional flavours is retained.
Packaged in bottles has a shelf life of 12 months or more (depending on type of beer) and in keg up to 8 weeks (again depending on type of beer and pasteurization) from date of filling.
All bottled products contain beer pasteurized with a progressive flow pasteurizer from BrauKon, which preserves all taste parameters and high beer quality. We distribute pasteurized and unpasteurized beer in kegs.
